How To Clean Your Showerhead

Sometimes a lack of water pressure isn’t due to a problem with your pipes, but an issue with your showerhead.

Mineral deposits on your showerhead, especially if you have hard water, can cause clogs which lower your water pressure.

This is one plumbing issue which can be easily fixed, here’s how:

• Fill a small plastic bag, such as a Ziploc halfway with white vinegar.
• Using a rubber band, secure the bag to the problematic showerhead, being sure to fully submerse the areas of the showerhead with build-up in the vinegar.
• After allowing the showerhead to soak overnight, you can use an old toothbrush to clean the showerhead. The vinegar will have loosened any mineral deposits.

Be sure to let your family know what you are doing, so no one tries to use the shower before you have a chance to clean it, and ends up covered in vinegar instead.
